I agree with you as well. While there is obviously truth to the lefty vs lefty, righty vs righty rule. Ill still take the hot hand over that matchup

    • WOW Tigers are hitting .381 against Harrison in his career. That is 5 games.

There average this year is even better, like .407 or something. But 2 of their injuries were big contributers to that, PLUS the 2 guys replacing them are both lefties.

The other thing that I like about this matchup is the fact that Harrison doesnt give up home runs! that has been the almost the entirety of the Tigers offense this series.

Lets face it, we havent played a great game the whole series, we won 2 games purely on the bullpen and 1-2 hitters. The starting pitching cannot play that bad much longer, and the bats will wake up. Im hoping that facing their #4 guy today will be the catalyst that gets that started. And for the love of pete can we PLEASE get a power hitter in the cleanup spot! I swear if we get another rally stalled by a double play! I love MY but at this point he needs to be 6 or 7 in the order

        Go Rangers!

Norm was talking about MY on the ticket for about 20 minutes. He brings up a valid point. Who do you put there? We know Cruz is terrible in the 4 spot. Napoli seems the most likely, and Beltre is probably hurt.

Anyone heard if Beltre is out?

Honestly my lineup would look like this if Beltre play(I think he is probable)

                Kinsler,Andrus,Hamilton,Beltre,Napoli,Cruz,Young,Y orvit,Murphy

I think Yorvit is very underrated as a hitter, and a better catcher than Napoli.
Murphy when hot is much better than Chavez or Gentry, but unfortunately there is not in-between for him. But even when cold, I still prefer to see Chavez and Gentry's speed and bunting ability available to come off the bench when we need it in crunch time.

I would also not be opposed to Hamilton in the cleanup spot. He has a knack for clutch hits, only problem with that is I have no idea who would be replace him in the 3-hole. Napoli wouldnt be to bad, with his high average this year. Always good to have more people on base for beltre and cruz

Say what? The three runs in the game Saturday came from Napoli (6), Cruz (7, including the winning run), and Murphy (8, driven in by Kinsler). Then 5 of the 7 runs Monday were driven in by the 7 hole. The other 2 were driven in by Hamilton (3) and Beltre (5). And as bad as Young has been, he did lead off that inning and score the winning run.

Sorry let me clarify, I meant 1-2 different hitters being hot. Not the 1 and 2 hole. Bascially, our entire lineup has yet to get hot.

The homerun he gave up to Martinez was supposed to be low and outside. It was low but on the inner half of the plate. Martinez did a nice job to hit it out, but it wasn't the pitch he wanted to make.Gonzalez has had 2 appearances in this series, pitched to 2 batters. He gave up a double and got an out. He had 2 more appearances in the ALDS. Allowed 1 hit, struck out 2. He's pitched 1 inning in the postseason. Not that valuable IMO. Oliver has allowed 1 run, 3 hits (came in that bad outing against TB) in 3 innings of relief.
Hes 3-29 Nash, so you're right. It's pretty fucking dismal for a guy that hit .328 over the season.
