That's different. If you run for Beltre and don't win it in the ninth, you're left with Young at third, no DH, and Beltre out of the game. At this point, you're trading a 1 for 5 guy with no speed for a guy that can win the game with his legs and not hurt you in the field or at the plate.

I wish I could see exactly how awful this strike zone is. If it is as polar as you all are implying, I hope someone from the team petitions the league to remove this particular umpire from all playoff games for the remainder of this year, at least.
