Isn't OU losing Wilson (their OC)? See...your good coaches leave, and the bad ones get fired. If Gregg Davis is so wonderful, why hasn't a big school offered him a head-coaching gig?

Why have coaches like Fran and Larry Coker gone to really really crappy schools ? Just because no school is offering doesnt mean your not a good coach.

Maybe Wilson has called some dumb plays, but overall OU had a good season and won the Big 12 Championship. EVERYBODY loves a winner. That's why he's got a new gig, and Davis is on his way out.

I imagine it costs' a few sheckles for those guys to "retire", but with Davis resigning, they had no other choice. Any new OC worth his salt, will want his own staff.

I think that Applewhite would be the internal favorite but they will probably look at the big names elsewhere.

Malzahn from Auburn, Chad Morris from Tulsa (also Gilbert's coach at LT), and the guy at Boise are the rumors right now

I think that is awesome. From the few times that I have met him his is a great recruiter and and seems like he is a good coach. He really cares about the players and game preparation. I think having some fresh blood in there will help out the younger players. What really needs to emerge are some leaders from the upperclassmen. I think that was lacking this year and it rolled over onto the field.

Did you read my thread down below with the recruiticosm story?? It talks about that and that Major was the only offensive coach working with his players the week before the aggy game
