He got fucking railroaded. One bad year and they put him out to pasture. Not sure which is worse. Longhorns fans or Cowboys fans. I don't know how many people have told me that they hate Greg Davis this year. Well motherfucker, you sure as hell had no problem with him in years past!
How do we forget ourselves? How do we forget our minds?

That's bullshit and you should pay attention more. Between '00-mid '04 everybody wanted Davis out then and they were winning 10 games a year

I'll respectfully disagree. Davis relied on some hellacious QB's the last 6 seasons or so (VY for 2 and McCoy for 4), and I think he got lazy, creatively. Those two QB's handled the running AND the passing games, damn near exclusively.
Davis got exposed with Gilbert, pure and simple, and by the time Davis found out Gilbert was/is lacking, it was too late.
That said, I have more of an issue with Gilbert than I do Davis. If a new OC is stuck with Gilbert (and no TRUE RB), he'll have the same problems.

Texas fans for sure. Fo rillz.

I've never heard a complaint in the world about Davis, until this year. I do think he carries a lot of blame in this bad season though. True, he didn't have a lot to work with at QB. But they couldn't run the ball, and he didn't change up the play calling to suit his QB's strengths. Was it worth being fired over one bad season? That's arguable. But, as an outsider, he simply didn't do his job this year, and that is enough reason for termination as far as I'm concerned.

I say just shut down the program for a couple of seasons and let it rebuild while A&M's practice squad suits up in orange on Saturdays.

It's not just UT. The Ags fired RC Slocum after a 6-6 year in '02. HUGE mistake, IMHO, because the program has stunk since. When a team loses as many games in one season as it did in the last 4 combined, someone has to pay.

Not at all, I just don't get on the hornfans, orangeblood, etc. I only hear/see what's posted here, or heard in conversations with friends that are Horns fans.

I'll back up whoever said "nobody was complaining when they were winning". If I wasn't banned, I'd go back and do quite the historic search on the other board for you, Randy, Jeff, and SVTPlaigarizer specifically. My memory isn't the best, but I sure don't seem to recall a single one of you complaining when yall were winning the Big XII, and titles.

Maybe the new OC will actually work to his players strengths and not just run random plays out of a playbook that seems to be one page long

I have been screaming this for years. That's what happens when you build your offense around 2 guys. The RB situation will be helped next year with the kid from San Antonio but the WR's are going to be a problem.

Sounds eerily familiar to a certain unnamed Red Jesus who has been in the headlines a lot recently. lmfao
