Rangers Playoffs

Okay someone clear this up for me please. According to ESPN website today, Redsox still have an 87% chance of making playoffs.

Assuming the AL is, Yankees, Redsox, Rangers and Tigers, who do Rangers play first round? I thought the Yanks and Redsox couldnt play eachother in first round since they are in same division??

But the radio was talking forever about us and the tigers and us needing the better record for home field advantage?? If we arent playing the tigers first round then what does that matter??

Red Sox are done, how do they have that percentage when they have played like crap in the last 3 weeks.

It is important to get a better record then Detriot so that way if we both meet for the ALCS we have homefield advantage.
