Very interesting.....If this is the best Texas can do than so be it....Pac-12 (pac-16 it is), but I would prefer the Big XII to stay intact and add quality teams...Which the commissioner, and several UT and OU alumni and boosters are trying to do as of right now.

Word through a very CLOSE source inside the BIG XII office has Beebe on the phone trying to workout new deal...And ND is in the mix

Tech, ok st, and Oklahoma are going to the pac 12 if all goes as planned. Texas is the one with their precious longhorn network at stake, that would compete with the pac 12s deal with ESPN.

Oklahoma has stated to Texas they want equal revenue sharing, Tier 1 & 2 but each school can keep their Tier 3 rights and to add 3 quality teams to the BIG XII....Back to 12 teams, championship game

ESPN executive's have reached out to Dan Beebe... ESPN was pushing for Texas to go to the ACC, but ACC wouldn't take Tx Tech.

ACC went a different direction.

ESPN does NOT want the Longhorn Network altered in any way...

If Texas is to go to Pac-12, Longhorn Network will be altered to allow pac-12 programming also..Will become more of a regional network

It's no secret Oklahoma laid out to Texas what they want in order to stay in the BIG XII.

ALL THIS INFORMATION IS COMING FROM A PERSON WITH FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE of the negotiations/talks.

I'm not saying Texas won't end up in the Pac-12, because at the end of the day, it may be best for Texas to do that.

But their are some serious talks going on besides the Pac-12.

Not if they go to the Pac-12, because ESPN just renegotiated the Pac-12's TV contract. Why would they pay Texas double for conference games.

The LHN is dead, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but i'd say in the next 2-5 years that thing won't even exist. The conference disolving has a big part to do with that. That's why carriers aren't picking it up.

The only major is Verizon, followed by Grande which really is just local to Austin. Below is a list of the carriers as of today.

DirecTV, Dish, and Time Warner said they would wait and see what happens after this football season to see if it is feasible to carry the network. Which is strange for DirecTV since they consider themselves the best sports coverage carrier around.

I read that TX is the biggest $ pull in college football. This was from ESPN magazine when the big 12 shook up last. OH state was #2 with 23% less $. OK was nowhere in the top, and I'm sure this is what's driving alot of this, and why certain teams get their way.

The money has a big factor in why Texas A&M and Oklahoma have been looking to move on. It made Texas too powerful in the conference with major decision making power, and no one really liked that.

Texas got greedy with their Longhorn network and now they are paying the price. Watching their conference fall apart, not having a playoff, and being left with no competition.

I hope OK, OK St, and Tech all leave, Baylor goes to the ACC, and the rest find homes, except Texas. I hope they end up independent and have to pay their own way through all of the other sports like women's volleyball, track and field, etc.

The price is why the big providers haven't picked it up yet. ESPN is still asking too much for it. And it'll be dead within a few years? Sounds like wishful thinking from aggy and piggy fans everywhere
