Very interesting.....If this is the best Texas can do than so be it....Pac-12 (pac-16 it is), but I would prefer the Big XII to stay intact and add quality teams...Which the commissioner, and several UT and OU alumni and boosters are trying to do as of right now.
Word through a very CLOSE source inside the BIG XII office has Beebe on the phone trying to workout new deal...And ND is in the mix
Will post more when I receive another email verifying more information

Not going to happen.... It's either stay in Big XII and add quality 3 teams or Pac-12 (Pac-16)
From everyone and source (Austin-American Statesman) is it is the Pac-12....
But at this very moment, some very high alumin and boosters from UT, OU, and BIG XII commissioner Dan Beebe on working right now to stabilize the BIG XII
Oklahoma has stated to Texas they want equal revenue sharing, Tier 1 & 2 but each school can keep their Tier 3 rights and to add 3 quality teams to the BIG XII....Back to 12 teams, championship game

I find it hard to believe that they're "working hard" on keeping the big 12 together. Who can they get to join? ND isn't going to and that's the only big name out there. So I think these four are trying to get the fuck out of dodge while the gettings good

ACC went a different direction.
ESPN does NOT want the Longhorn Network altered in any way...
If Texas is to go to Pac-12, Longhorn Network will be altered to allow pac-12 programming also..Will become more of a regional network
It's no secret Oklahoma laid out to Texas what they want in order to stay in the BIG XII.
ALL THIS INFORMATION IS COMING FROM A PERSON WITH FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE of the negotiations/talks.
I'm not saying Texas won't end up in the Pac-12, because at the end of the day, it may be best for Texas to do that.
But their are some serious talks going on besides the Pac-12.
In other news....
If the BIG XII dissolves Dan Beebe already has a standing job offer within the NCAA executive office

The LHN is dead, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but i'd say in the next 2-5 years that thing won't even exist. The conference disolving has a big part to do with that. That's why carriers aren't picking it up.
The only major is Verizon, followed by Grande which really is just local to Austin. Below is a list of the carriers as of today.
Verizon FIOS
Consolidated Communications
Bay City Cablevision
Mid-Coast Cablevision
Texas Mid-Gulf Cablevision
En-Touch Systems
E-Tex Communications
Grande Communications
DirecTV, Dish, and Time Warner said they would wait and see what happens after this football season to see if it is feasible to carry the network. Which is strange for DirecTV since they consider themselves the best sports coverage carrier around.

I read that TX is the biggest $ pull in college football. This was from ESPN magazine when the big 12 shook up last. OH state was #2 with 23% less $. OK was nowhere in the top, and I'm sure this is what's driving alot of this, and why certain teams get their way.sigpic18 F150 Supercrew - daily
17 F150 Supercrew - totaled Dec 12, 2018
13 DIB Premium GT, M6, Track Pack, Glass Roof, Nav, Recaros - Sold
86 SVO - Sold

01 TJ - new toy - Sold
65 F100 (460 + C6) - Sold

Texas got greedy with their Longhorn network and now they are paying the price. Watching their conference fall apart, not having a playoff, and being left with no competition.
I hope OK, OK St, and Tech all leave, Baylor goes to the ACC, and the rest find homes, except Texas. I hope they end up independent and have to pay their own way through all of the other sports like women's volleyball, track and field, etc.

The price is why the big providers haven't picked it up yet. ESPN is still asking too much for it. And it'll be dead within a few years? Sounds like wishful thinking from aggy and piggy fans everywhere
and do you seriously think Texas is going to go anywhere without being able to keep the LHN?
