I'm thinking about getting back into again just for fun. I watched my Dad bowl a tournament yesterday and was kinda getting the itch again. It only took 670 to be in the money! lol.

Well, I was excited. I've shot numerous 790's but never could break the 800 mark. I had to shot a 300 the last game to shot 807. Why did you quit bowling in the first place?

A combination of reasons really. I've been bowling since before I could walk, basicially grew up in centers. I had a overzealous sporting parent who was a 30+ year PBA member who drove me nuts and didn't like I was involved in martial arts at all. All he was worried about is that I would break my arm and throw my career away, but I never wanted a career in bowling which I could have easily had. I just didn't want to spend my life driving from center to center every week living out of a suitcase to grind out a measely 60-80k a year doing something I hated so much.

And you know how the bowling social circle is, it's so unbelievably annoying. The people who live and breathe the sport get on my nerves. They live for the next weekend tournament, gotta have the latest equiptment for nothing more than bragging rights when they can't even properly throw the other 100 balls they have in their closet. The exuses are always something other than themselves, equiptment, conditions, that other guy is a house bowler.. etc.

And now years later, I've got a wife and kid I'm crazy about, my BJJ hobby takes up alot of my time training and competing working to have my own school some day. So I have to pick and choose my time and hobbies. My car hobby time is pretty much limited to Friday nights now, which seems dumb to even have a hot rod anymore but I love it. lol.

Truly I have no clue cause that's a reason I don't practice that much. The only time I do is when I buy a new ball which isn't often or there is a guy in the mens league with a PBA card and I bowl with him cause it's a dollar a game.
