  • Cowboys fan user Taser on Jets fan......

How the fuck did that get into the Stadium? And who the hell doesn't stand for the National Anthem, especially on 9/11????

I should blow this out of proportion like all Dallas fans do about us Philly fans..... but I know better, I actually use common sense....

After fan violence marred a preseason game between the Raiders and 49ers, the NFL insisted that it was taking stadium security seriously.

After fan violence marred a preseason game between the Raiders and 49ers, the NFL insisted that it was taking stadium security seriously. But in the stadium that should have had the strongest security presence of any on Sunday — the New York Jets’ home game on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 — an ugly fight broke out in the stands, with one fan using a taser.

A 59-year-old man named Leroy McKelvey, who was wearing a Cowboys jersey at the Jets game, was charged with three counts of aggravated assault and two weapons counts for using the taser, which is illegal in New Jersey.

Deadspin has video of the incident, and a couple fans can be heard asking a very good question: “How did he get in there with that thing? On 9/11? How the f–k did that happen?”

MetLife Stadium CEO Mark Lamping said fans were patted down and had their bags checked as they entered the stadium, as usual.

“Procedures for pat downs established by the NFL and used at every game were in effect at all entry gates,” Lamping said.

But pat downs and bag checks apparently aren’t effective enough to catch a fan bringing an illegal weapon into the stadium.

Jets coach Rex Ryan had an unfortunate choice of words in the days leading up to the game, warning fans that “it’s probably not recommended” they wear Cowboys gear to the stadium. Ryan later said he didn’t intend to suggest that Jets fans should beat up Cowboys fans in the stands. This fight involved Cowboys fans and Jets fans, but it apparently was motivated by a disagreement that broke out during the national anthem.

“A Marine at the end of the row noticed that McKelvey and three others in his party would not stand or take their hats off for the national anthem,” a law enforcement officer told the Cliffview Pilot. “So the Marine tells McKelvey he better not have to get out of the row ’cause he won’t let him out.”

And then at halftime, when McKelvey did try to get out of the row, that’s when the fight broke out.

Whatever the circumstances of this fight, fan violence in NFL stadiums is clearly a serious problem. The league says it’s doing everything it can to keep fans safe in stadiums. The league needs to do more.

Regardless of the taser, what a piece of shit. But, that's par for the course for these jackasses that elected a President that refuses to do the same. If Obama is too good for it, they are too. Self serving pieces of shit.

They were talking about this on the ticket the other day. Apparently the guy is a Jehovah witness and they do not believe in saluting a flag, standing for a national anthem etc. Regardless of my or anyone else's opinion the guy was practicing his freedom and his beliefs.

I agree with the general ideas of your post but it's not factually correct. The president has to pay for their meals unless they are conducting official business during it. Even when on Air Force One the president gets billed for the coffee and whatever snacks they may consume. Read presidential memoirs, they all get shocked when the first $10-15k bill for food shows up.

Regarding the mantion and limo, it's not really a matter of choice. They have to reside in the White House and they have to ride in what the secret service provides.

Now the vacations and overseas trips, those are an extravagant waste of money. Why did Obama need to visit Ireland? It's not like they can vote for him or helped keep the British on our side. If he wants to travel somewhere it should be Israel or Iraq or even Kurdistan to show our support.

that was my initial reaction as well, but this is America, and we do have freedom of religion. Sure, I think its highly disrespectful, but, he has the freedom to follow his religion, no matter how much I disagree with it.

I've had food thrown at me, beer poured on me, punches thrown, fights fought.... all at Cowboys stadium, both new and old. It sucks these things happen at games, high testosterone levels, high alcohol levels, and stupid people..... it's a bad mix.... Hope everyone ended up ok....

I always tell Cowboys fans around me at games, boo me all you want, just don't touch me. You cheer for your team, I'll cheer for mine.

He impeded no freedom, he did exercise some though (referring to the sitter, not the Marine).
