  • Gurode Released Today By Cowboys

The Cowboys have decided to part ways with Gurode after failing to come to an agreement on a new contract, ESPNDallas.com is reporting.

Although Gurode was a Pro Bowl center last season, the Cowboys were thought to be leaning toward Phil Costa as the starting center this year. Gurode’s 2011 salary of $5.5 million was too much to pay a player who might not even be a starter.

Costa suffered a sprained PCL last week, but the Cowboys are optimistic he’ll be ready to go for the regular-season opener

(This honestly dosent make sense to me. Gurode was a pro bowler last year and Costa is still questionable to start Week 1.)
    Los Angeles Rams 11-5
Last Game - Loss vs. San Fransisco
    Up Next - vs. Atlanta

    2017 NFC West Division Champions

yea I can see it from that angle. If this was a message from Garrett to the plays saying that I don't care how many pro bowls, seasons, or what you have done. If you dont perform at the level that the teams wants to see from you then I think the message was delivered.

There is some speculation that exactly that had a lot to do with it, given the comments about the sense of entitlement from James last week. You know Garrett won't publicly admit it though.

I know this is going to sound stupid, but this doesn't feel like a Jerry Jones move. I can't remember him ever letting someone go in this fashion. He pays for these guys normally.

On the other hand, if it isn't a jerry jones move, that means Garrett has alot more power than anyone previously thought.

Not at all. If it was Jerry's call, he would have paid him another $5 million a year. That's what all the buzz has been on the Ticket, that this move has Stephen and Red Jesus' fingerprints all over it

I just hope this Costa guy can do what needs to be done.

Jesus we went from one of the oldest lines in the league, to maybe the youngest. It would be pretty cool to see if they gel and become like the colts or patriots lines, spending years together.
