  • Fedor thought...

Ive been a Fedor fan since I can remember, but I think it's time for him to call it quits, and who better to lose to than Dan Henderson, one of the nicest guys in MMA. Im a huge Liddell fan too, but he hung on to something that just wasnt there for way too long...

    Thoughts..

Well, Id agree, but he got knocked out by a MW/LHW...
I think the LHWs in the UFC would be too fast for Fedor. Hes fast for a HW but I just dont know if he still has it and Id hate to see him join the UFC and get KO'd. It would only give the Fedor haters the chance to jump up and say, "I told you so!"

I was a huge fan too, but the game has passed him by. He refused to make any changes to his camp or training, and this is the result. He still thinks that training in the woods with Alex and some highschoolers is enough.

        It's not.

I stopped watching mma when ufc started the ultimate fighter and pride was bought out and shut down. On that note, I will always think Fedor will be the greatest heavyweight of all time. He was unstoppable

I still think he could still be effective, but it would take a complete revamping of his game plan. Don't think that'll happen.

I can't stand this line of thinking by fans, it irritates me to no end. Just because a fighter loses a couple of fights at the highest level competition doesn't mean he "no longer has it". Anyone can get caught at anytime. When you play the stand and trade game, your probablity of winning/losing is at it's most unstable because you're leaving it to chance.

What people are realizing now, is that Fedor is just a man, and not some indestructible machine that so many believed him to be for so long.
He had Henderson down, he got caught up in his G-N-P tryin to finish Henderson and didn't maintain control giving Henderson a backdoor wrestlers escape, it was a mental mistake trying to fight under pressure of the whole world - it could happen to anyone.

Then you're not a true fan in my opinion.

I can't beleive you and I are going to agree on something, but yes I agree.

Fedor does not change his training at all from fighter to fighter. He doesn't watch tapes, he doesn't speciality train, he doesn't wrestle at all. He just does what he does for each fight because it worked for so long. If it were possible for Fedor to move to the states and train at a few big, legit camps that would be best for him but M-1 will never allow that.

Another big problem with Fedor is that he is government controlled. He doesn't have any say in what he does, who he fights etc. "M-1" is actually mother russia officials controlling their cash cow and "people's champion" they campain all over their country.

He doesn't have a choice in any of that, he's not a free man, but rather property of his government.
