  • Bears tell Roy Williams he may lose starting job

It turns out that media and fans aren’t the only ones in Chicago starting to grumble about Roy Williams.

Bears receiver coach Darryl Drake sent a loud message to Williams on Wednesday.

“[He's not where he needs to be, and he knows that," Drake said via the Chicago Sun-Times. "He and I have talked about that. And the good thing about it is, you got Johnny Knox who is fighting and working hard.

"And believe you and me, [Williams] also understands that Johnny is there, and Johnny is hungry, and Johnny wants his spot back. And if things don’t start changing, then Johnny is going to be in there. Heard it straight from the horse’s mouth.”

Those are fighting words. Knox by all accounts has enjoyed a strong camp. Talent rises in the NFL, and it’s hard to imagine Knox staying out of the starting lineup throughout the season.

Heck, it sounds like Knox could be there by Week One the way Williams is going.

Honestly Johnny Knox should be the #1 receiver over both Williams and Hester. He's the best WR on the Bears. Williams and Hester should be battling for the #2 WR spot.

Shouldnt really be a battle for the #2 spot, that spot should be Hester's

At this point, he's just in it for a paycheck, he doesn't care anymore. Not sure how much he really cared before either. I guess starting out in Detroit will do that to a fella lol

I think you're pretty much right.

In Detroit he was king shit, best player on the team. He came to Dallas and was overshadowed by younger receivers. Now the same thing is happening in Chicago. His price tag is about to say "open box" on it and his next contract, if there is one, will be pretty low, unless he pulls some huge numbers out of his ass this season.

Or from another angle, if your an average player but on a horrible team sometimes it looks like your pretty good. But when you go to a team that is good then it shows that your not that good your just average.

You make it sound like the Cowboys and Bears have great receiving corps.

                    You is mistaken Maam.

Wat? Yeah, Miles, Dez, and Witten are terrible.

Wait till at least one gets hurt. Everyone sees how thin the receiving corps is, except you.

They literally have 11 catches between all of those backups, and 10 of those are from Ogletree.

I didn't say it wasnt thin. That's not what you said, either.

Being thin is a sign of weakness.

Are we talking about depth or talent? They may not have depth, but they've got plenty of talent.
