1 - I'm not on a SIGNED FUCKING CONTRACT. I'm an employee, not contract labor. Our company has a policy about raises/performance. When they didn't hold up their end, I spoke up and got what I wanted. That's hardly the same as what he is doing. Nobody broke their contract but Johnson.

2 - Again, it was good enough for him to sign it as a rookie. You fulfill your contract, and if you're worth your weight, you will get a payday on the next one. That's the way it's ALWAYS been. That's why there is free agency. If he finished out his contract, and felt their offer wasn't good enough, he can test the waters in the FA market. That's why it exists. None of this is new. This is the same way it's been done for decades.

Shut the fuck up, put on your pads, and play. YOU ARE VIOLATING A CONTRACT. I can't believe the Owners pander to this nonsense. You don't want to show up to camp? That's cool. You'll be riding pine all 16 games, and when your contract is up, you're gone. Acting like a fucking titty baby gets you nowhere in life. He's just another predictable thug.

Do you honestly think the teams don't already know these players are going to ask for big pay days 2 years from the time they sign their rookie contract? They know the game as well and they know these guys are going to want money. This shouldn't come as any surprise, and here is a concept, do like the Cardinals and pay up before the guy gets on the market.

Did I say that? No. If they are worthwhile, they will get their payday. But they are coming in to the NFL completely unproven. More bust, than make it. The owners don't have to shell out huge contracts up front, because more times than not, it doesn't work out. Be it lack of production, injury, whatever. The system is set up to protect the owners, and that's exactly how it should be. After all, it is THEIR money on the line.

The way he is acting, isn't helping his cause any. If I were an NFL Owner, and a player pulled this shit, he wouldn't play another down on my field. He'd be stuck on the sidelines, twiddling his thumbs, until his contract is up. Then, he can go wherever he pleases, because he wouldn't be welcome to play for me any longer. A new contract isn't a God given right. And if a team rewards you with a new, bigger contract before your current contract is up, good for them. That's a bonus. But as contract labor, you aren't entitled to a fucking thing outside of your contract. Period. End of story.

I am not saying I agree 100% with the players in these scenarios. I am just saying I understand the way they see it. They should express their unhappiness with their contract, that is their right, but they still need to play whether they like it or not. I think some of these players do forget the huge signing bonus they got when they were drafted.

I have no idea how he is acting. Is he picketing the Titans front offices?

Oh, I don't know. Not showing up to camp... Don't forget this piece of shit pulled the exact same nonsense last year. They reworked his deal last year, and here he is doing it again.

I want a zero tolerance policy in the NFL on holdouts. It's getting closer to that, but the $30,000/day fine isn't even close to being enough. Of course, the NFLPA was entirely against a policy to begin with. Because they are all walking around with a huge sense of entitlement.

This is the problem. Player holds out, you cave, it gives the SMF (Chris Johnson in this instance) the impression that he can throw a pity party and holdout every year to get what he wants. That's an awful precedent to set.

I dont like the fact that just because he isnt getting what he wants he isnt going to team practices, meetings, or anything that involves his team. Also Im not gonna feel sorry for someone that is making 500K bitching, most of us wont ever get near that. Shut up, go do your job. Honestly I thought he slipped last year compared to 2009.

Yeah, I think Jerruh had too much oxycontin.

How the hell did they work this deal and stay under the cap? I thought we were still over and that was the reason we haven't brought in a veteran receiver.

Forget the cap, why did they give his sorry ass anything more than a 1 yr contract?!?

LOL wow now this is sad. Why would they give Scandrick this contract when he hasn't done anything. I know he's young, but he dosent have this great potential to become like a Revis or a Woodson cornerback.

His window of opportunity to make bank is the smalllest of any position in the league. I have no problem with him asking for more money (have you seen what he's done on the field?).

Your arguement that he should honor his contract is laughable. Owners will give players a lengthy multi-million dollar deal and can cut a player the next season, no one honors contracts.

And if they cut him, they HAVE to honor the guaranteed portion of the contract. So essentially, they get paid for work they didn't perform in cases where the player is cut. You are aware of how this works, aren't you? Owners can do that. They are the boss! They, in essense, are running a company. When an employee underperforms, or is drawing too much salary, it's time to make a move. They can fire a player just like your boss can fire you.

Everyone honors contracts. If you don't, you get sued, and lose. Do you know how football works, or are you making a lot of assumptions about things you don't know about?

I don't give a damn what he's done on the field. He pulled this same shit last year, and got a new contract. It was good enough for him to sign last year, but now he can't play for what they are paying him? Why the fuck did he sign it last year then?
