Watch NFL Sunday Ticket on your PS3

Wasn't sure whether to put this in the Gaming/Computer forum or here. Sony and DirecTV announced that they are going to release the Sunday Ticket package to the PS3, sounds awesome... only downside, it's gonna cost you $339 a year.

If you are already a DirectTV Sunday Ticket customer, you can get the package on your PS3 for $50.

It's about the same as what you would have to pay for the Sunday Ticket pacakge through DirecTV, but now you don't have to have their sat or receivers.

Is there any reason I can't just cancel DTV and then buy Sunday Ticket for my PS3? I don't watch that much TV. I would have killed my subscription long ago if not for NFL Sunday Ticket.

You are still paying DirecTV, but just that it will be through your PS3, it is a DTV app that you will install on your PS3. I dont see any reason why you couldnt cancel and use your PS3 for the games.

No you dont have to already have DTV, see the article. This would make you a DTV customer, just that you would use a PS3 to access the service instead of a Sat Dish and receiver.

Sunday Ticket is only available through DirecTV, they own the exclusive rights and its about the same price.

Only downside is not being able to record any of the games.


I usually recorded the Saints game all of last year while I watched the Denver games live.

The Sunday Ticket is more for those folks who follow a team that is outside their market, in my case I am a Miami Dolphins fan, if they aren't playing on Sunday Night or Monday Night, I rarely get to see them play. So the Sunday Ticket would give me the ability to watch every single Dolphins game.

I love the Red Zone Channel. We have Direct TV but not the Sunday Ticket. But the first week of the season is free for viewers and I love watching that channel. You dont miss anything
