  • Denver Broncos

I know I'm not the only Denver fan on the board so this thread might not exactly pertain to you Cowboy fans I know sean88gt and yellowstang I believe are Bronco fans as well not sure who else on the board is.

So to my other Bronco fans how do you think the team is coming along and are you satisfied with the direction the franchise is headed and moves made so far in the offseason? Where do you think this team will stand compared to others at the end of the year. I'd love a Super Bowl but realistically it could take up to 2-5 years. I'm just shooting for playoffs this year.

I'm satisfied in the direction the organization is headed. Firing Josh McDaniels was the start of a new beginning and the end of the worst era in Broncos history. Hiring John Fox I believe was a smart move considering what coaches were available and he did turn around a horrible Panthers team and took them to the Super Bowl in 2 years. I'm also very happy he is a defensive minded coach rather then offense and I'm happy about the switch to 4-3 defense.

I think Denver's defense will improve drastically with the return of the NFL sac king Elvis Dumervile especially opposite side the rookie Von Miller who was the best pass rusher coming out of the draft this year. Champ resigned. Brian Dawkins took a paycut to be a Bronco and rookie Rahim Moore is starting Safety.

Offensively I don't think they know what direction they want to take. I'm content with Orton being a starter although I do believe after this season it will be Tebow time in Denver or he'll be traded. Orton just can't find ways to win the game, his stats are pretty damn decent but they aren't amounting to wins. Hopefully the rookie we drafted over Dez will actually stay on the field this season and contribute we could use a big WR seeing as how Lloyd and Royal are both undersized. We needed a tight end and we drafted a couple of those so we'll see how that turns out later in the season. I'm happy about the signing of Willis to back up Moreno I think that will be a great two headed tandem in the backfield.

Orton is one and done, he won't be resigned. Fans up here are booing him at practice, even though his mechanics are a lot better than Tebow. He has zero personality, hates the fans -seriously hates them. Had a sound bite that said his last goal was giving a damn about the fans which is only drawing stronger ire.

Most people understand it is a rebuild period, the coaches and brass acknowledge that as well.

The consensus up here is that it is better to win 6-7 games with Tebow than to win 7-8 games with Orton. That establishes whether Tebow is a myth or he can compete and lead the team.

Defense will be a lot better. They were destroying the offense in practice. Elvis put on around 15-20lbs to be more competitive as an end and Miller is showing a lot of speed and damn good pressure.

So, I think it will be a mediocre year, again, but with a design for the future.

Fans are stupid, Orton is a very underrated QB. Just look at the stats from the last two years. Tebow could be the future, but unless if Orton has a horrible start to the year then whats the rush to start him.

Orton is definitely looking better than Tebow but he did only win 3 games last year. Hopefully Fox will make much better use of him..

Oh look, it's another day ending in the letter 'y'. Time for Pepper to start a thread about the Broncos, Saints, or both.
How do we forget ourselves? How do we forget our minds?

Yup you know it. I proudly represent my teams. So you're suggesting I make a thread for the Saints, right? Last I checked there is only one other Saints fan on the board

I cant say shit, anytime the Rams made noise in the free agency I posted it up. I think the Broncos need to relax and wait. I did however completely disagree Merrill Hodge ripping Tebow a week ago. Hodge was a complete idiot. Tebow has only 1 year in the NFL, and in Florida he was a leader. Honestly Id have no problem going to battle with Tebow, he's a leader but he's also someone who wants to win.

Haters gonna hate, right? I know we have a few other Denver fans so figured I'd get a discussion going other then Cowboys who have been boring lately while Denver is steady making moves.

I'd create a thread about the Saints but they are IMO prime to go to the Super Bowl. They really don't have many/if any holes in that team.

I missed him talking trash about Tebow but I heard about it a little. I will say Tebow is a leader and a winner. From what I saw last year even the teammates liked having Tebow in the huddle.

I agree this is Ortons last year with Denver regardless of what the outcome is. I was reading about that comment yesterday and that was pretty fucked up. He said he is lucky the fans don't get to make decisions otherwise it'd be Tebow all the way.

I say throw Tebow to the wolves if Orton comes out losing in week one or two of the season.

So Miller is looking good? I haven't heard a whole lot about him or the safety Moore who is going to be a starter. Any word? I know Elvis I've been hearing a lot about and he's ready. That extra 20 lbs is all muscle according to NFL.com haha!

Miller is just brutally fast off the corner. Brings a lot of pressure and creates matchup problems because they are stacking against Elvis. If they double Miller, it leaves Elvis undermatched.

Haven't heard much in the way of secondary.

I'm expecting another crappy season and Orton to do good between the 20's, and suck in the redzone, again...
