I know I'm not the only Denver fan on the board so this thread might not exactly pertain to you Cowboy fans I know sean88gt and yellowstang I believe are Bronco fans as well not sure who else on the board is.
So to my other Bronco fans how do you think the team is coming along and are you satisfied with the direction the franchise is headed and moves made so far in the offseason? Where do you think this team will stand compared to others at the end of the year. I'd love a Super Bowl but realistically it could take up to 2-5 years. I'm just shooting for playoffs this year.
I'm satisfied in the direction the organization is headed. Firing Josh McDaniels was the start of a new beginning and the end of the worst era in Broncos history. Hiring John Fox I believe was a smart move considering what coaches were available and he did turn around a horrible Panthers team and took them to the Super Bowl in 2 years. I'm also very happy he is a defensive minded coach rather then offense and I'm happy about the switch to 4-3 defense.
I think Denver's defense will improve drastically with the return of the NFL sac king Elvis Dumervile especially opposite side the rookie Von Miller who was the best pass rusher coming out of the draft this year. Champ resigned. Brian Dawkins took a paycut to be a Bronco and rookie Rahim Moore is starting Safety.
Offensively I don't think they know what direction they want to take. I'm content with Orton being a starter although I do believe after this season it will be Tebow time in Denver or he'll be traded. Orton just can't find ways to win the game, his stats are pretty damn decent but they aren't amounting to wins. Hopefully the rookie we drafted over Dez will actually stay on the field this season and contribute we could use a big WR seeing as how Lloyd and Royal are both undersized. We needed a tight end and we drafted a couple of those so we'll see how that turns out later in the season. I'm happy about the signing of Willis to back up Moreno I think that will be a great two headed tandem in the backfield.
