I don't know if it showed up on TV or not, but the locals were booing prince and rickie until prince hit that hr. The locals were pissy because upton wasn't picked for the derby.

It hit him in the middle of his glove after he'd stopped moving. It didn't just tip off the end on the run. Easily should have been an error. By my count, 3 errors and 1 pass ball in an All Star Game. Pretty sad.

I dont really care much for the MLB All Star Game, the only exciting part of it is the Home Run Derby.

Big plus to seeing the game in person - No Joe"you know I host NFL on fox" Buck, Tim "just let me ramble" McCarver during the game, or chris "I'm a big fucking retard" berman during the hr derby. In between innings on the scoreboard they were posting Tweets made with #ASG in them - there were more than a few that emphasized people's dislike of Fox's coverage and for ESPN's Berman.

I liked the game although the AL didn't put the best team on the field and Washington was trying to get everyone in the game like it was little league. I can honestly say that before the game I had no idea who Jordan Walden(ANA) was... and I'm still not entirely sure. Bochy managed the game like it counts since we've been being told it does since the tie. All of the selected Braves that were able to play(Chipper had knee surgery on Saturday) got in, so that made my night.

I'm sure they'll come up with some new rules for next year in KC.

It was a good game to watch for purists. The NL finally started doing a lot more of what the AL has done for years with pitchers. Anytime you can trot a closer like Kimbrel out in the 7th inning, your staff is set. All they need to do is get the lead and just hand the ball over to that run of closers. If I were choosing a pitching staff, I'd take maybe 3 starters and the rest closers if I wanted to make sure to win. That's how you shut down the best hitters in the game -- you run out a closer every inning from inning 5 on.

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks this way. They were too busy talking about the guy that just struck out to worry about mentioning who was at the plate. Mixing up Miguel Cabrera and Felix Hernandez was pretty good though, I guess they all look the same to Buck.

Sorry, I meant scoring wise and pitching. It wasn't the homer fest fans want nowadays. The pitching was quality and the scoring was low outside of the 3 run bomb. You are correct with the DH and the errors.

I prefer the pitching and defensive battle where every play, every bunt, every stolen base, and every pitching mistake can cost a team the game. I just hope the Braves can get healthy and start hitting the ball. We need Prado and Chipper back plus Uggla to start hitting at least his weight.

Prado should be back tomorrow. Chipper is looking at 3-4 weeks(A-rod had the same surgery on Monday and said 4-6 weeks - LOL). Uggla was acting like he was starting to come around right before the break. Heyward needs to figure out how to swing or be traded before everyone else realizes he can't hit with RISP. A right handed bat that can lead-off and handle the outfield(any spot) would be great. We are really close, just need a tweak here or there.
