  • Cuban taking a look at the Dodgers

Anyone else think it is a bad idea? I know Mark has deep pockets and lots of energy, but I think this would stretch him pretty thin.

This should not be a surprise, he wants a baseball team.He has tried to buy the Cubs and the Rangers. He will never be approved to be an owner so I don't see a problem.
Half of history is hiding the past.

He's not losing money on the Mavericks, and LA is a great market if you can develop it, and he's good at developing markets. He should do it.

Very true. Baseball wants nothing to do with Cuban.

I would like to know the truth behind that. I have heard he has spent a billion dollars on them in the last 10 years, but I wonder how much came in. LA has always been a basketball town, along with USC football. There are alot of other things to compete with in that market, including another baseball team. The Dodgers owner really has them in a bad situation, but there are other contributing factors.

He should buy the team, move it and join the AL West. I'd love to see a competitor in San Antonio, Austin or Oklahoma City. We need someone nearby to have a rivalry with.

They aren't for sale and won't be as long as they don't become cellar dwellers for 2-3 seasons in a row. Greenberg was the face of the money but he wasn't the real player behind the scenes. Bob Simpson and Ray Davis have tons of cash and Nolan himself isn't hurting either. Also don't forget about that multi billion dollar TV deal they signed with Fox last year.

Yeah if someone offered a billion dollars for the team I'm sure they'd sell but that's not gonna happen. It's worth a whole lot more than the $600 million or so they paid for it last year.
