We played terrible, and the Heat bench showed up in force. Niether one of those things will continue. The Heat's big 2.5 are going to get their points, but the bench won't be there every game like they were tonight. Our starters weren't making shots that they usually make, and our bench never showed up. We will get back to our game, and turn this around. If we take game 2, a split in Miami will be more than acceptable.

The Mav's did not look like "the Mav's" to me. I don't think it was the Heats' defense, either. Both teams had really poor shooting %'s from the floor (thank God!). The Mavs could have easily been down 10-12 points at the half, with all the turnovers, missed lay up's, and dunks!? Even Barea looked slow at times against the Heat. Dirk looked fine, but even he struggled some. I'm thinking the key to this series is going to be how well Terry and Kidd play. Dirk will be fine, but those two have to perform well enough that Dirk can have a little breathing room. I know one thing: The Mav's can NOT run with the Heat. James, Wade, and Bosh are too athletic for them to be able to do that.

Hopefully, this was just a case of first-game jitters.

The Mavs will make adjustments, and I think they will take game 2. They need to up the tempo more, Barea needs to finish, Chandler needs to rebound better, and the Mavs CANNOT allow the heat to get wide open looks on 3s. Peja is in a huge slump and he is a big liability on defense. I think his minutes will be cut. I would like to see if corey brewer can add some intrigue to the series in place of peja. Our bench has to show up or we'll be hitting the golf course real soon. I still think we take game 2. GO MAVS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing really impressed me about Miami.

The only thing that bothered me throughout the game was the fact that it was a Miami style ball game the entire time. I kept telling myself, if the mavs don't pick up the pace and start to get a good rythm then we are in trouble.

And the exact opposite happened. Mavs played at the pace the Heat dictated and that played to Miami's favor.

This series is far from over. The Mavs missed ALOT of free throws and open jumpers.

Take away the sloppier than usual play from the Mavs and that game goes the other way. Game two will (hopefully) look much different.

If the Mavs get their shit together they should take game 2. Also, the Heat's Coach Spoelstra (sp?) needs to get his ass off the damn court, it's like the Heat have a 6th player on the floor. He should get hit with a T walking down that far out.

That would be nice! Did anyone else notice that the song playing while they introduced the Mavs was the "Fuck You" song? That was pretty freaking tacky if you ask me.
