  • Dallas vs Miami

I think it's pretty safe to say this is the Finals matchup at this point. I don't see OKC or Chicago winning three straight to come back and win the series.

I'm going with Mavs in 6. A lot of people say Dallas can't beat Miami or Chicago. I disagree. Miami has not beat Dallas since the 06 Finals. Chicago has the best D in the league, but can't score with Miami. I don't think Miami can score with Dallas, but that's just my opinion. One thing is for sure. I can't fucking wait. Dallas is on fire right now, and Terry and Dirk both want their shot to make it right.

Be cocky all you want but you still have to take it won game at a time.

We're usually on the same page, but this Miami team is completely different from any other team after '06. Yes the Mavs beat them twice this year, but the Heat play some damn good defense. With Wade having a crappy post season so far, I hope he doesn't find his shot against the Mavs. I just can't see the Mavs penetrating the Heat D at all and I think they might resort to the jump shooting team of the past. I hope I'm wrong, which I have been a lot this post season.......I honestly couldn't pick a winner right now.

Wager what? The Mavs will win. I just don't like to throw this kind of stuff until the game is in the books.

After seeing the post-game, I have to agree. OKC looked really dejected. They're young, and I think that might actually work against them in this case. I've already read some articles out of OKC about how they will be the "team of the future", as if they've already relented.

Mavs aren't a penetrating team, really. Difference between this team and 06 Mavs, is we have an over abundance of shooters. In 06 we didn't have enough legit shooters. This Miami team is better also, but they are inconsistent as hell. They don't really play as a team IMO.

Besides, we all know the best players Miami had in 06 were the guys in black and white stripes. Cuban and Stern are buddy buddy now, so that won't happen again.

It's like taking a look through the history books isn't it? The similarities between this OKC team, and the struggles the Mavs had. They are freaking identical. Young, inexperienced, no true #2, no clear established identity. But watch out, for sure. Once Westbrook matures, and realized that's not his team, they will go far. And they are young as hell, so they will be a contender for many years to come.

Not penetrate to score, but to create good open shots.....

I do agree though that we have plenty of shooters that could give Miami fits trying to cover them all, just like every team that's played the Mavs.

Haslem has been a huge Spark for the Heat since he's come back and he's the one that will be on Dirk........he's the one that covered him in '06 right? I've tried to put it out of my head..........

Cuban has stayed very quiet this post season, much to the Mavs advantage.....

Since this isn't going to get deleted, I will go ahead and throw my .02 in.

The key to the whole series will be if Lebron stops Dirk. I don't know how much Lebron will guard him, but guys like Lebron are tough for Dirk. Hopefully Lebron gets in foul trouble quick and they rotate him to a different player.

I think we have the edge on guard play, even with Miami having Wade. I think Kidd can handle Wade enough to keep him under raps. The Heat have no answer for Terry, IMO. He WILL be the x-factor and if he is on, this is our series.

The thing that is hard to figure out is how we D up Bosh. He is going to force Chandler further out, and that could lead to the lane being open up for Wade to slash to.

Finally, possibly the most important point, Carlisle will out coach Miami. He is going to mismatch Miami to death and that is going to slow down what Miami likes to do.

Yep. If they can keep that bunch together, they will be tough to beat for the next 10-12 years. On the flip side, this is really the Mavs' best shot. With Kidds' age (and impending retirement), and Dirk in his 30's, youth is just not one of their strong points. I'm really thinking they will get it done this season.

I want Dallas to win in 4. However I think the Heat have got something for them Dallas Mavericks.
