I think Johnson is the most dominate driver in the last 30 years in nascar. When you look at the competition level in nascar today compared to 20 or 30 years ago with Earnhardt or Yarbrough where it wasnt as competitive.

Yawn. Nascar is for people that can't grasp formula racing, even though it's formula racing.

I'm confused... I thought all the formula drivers are starting to switch to NASCAR.

          Not the other way around.

          Why is this?

They claim it's for money, but I have a sneaking suspicion it's because they can't compete with Finns and Scots, and they can't get rides as marquee drivers. Why are NASCAR old-schoolers going to dirt track, while we're at it?

Possibly because they are old and ready for a change? Can you name some because I haven't got a clue what you're talking about..... I only keep up with Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards mostly as well as Jeff Gordan.

Didn't Pablo win a championship? Also wasn't Sam Hornish pretty damn good at formula?

Montoya never won a Formula 1 Championship, but he did win Formula 1's biggest race which was the Monaco Grand Prix in 2003 racing for Williams Racing. Montoya won the 2000 Indianapolis 500 and won the 1999 CART Championship in his rookie year racing for Chip Ganassi Racing. He is 1 of only 2 drivers ever to do that in CART. Also is a 2 time Rolex 24 winner at Daytona in 2007 and 2005 racing for Chip Ganassi Racing.

Sam Hornish Jr won 2 (2001,2002) IRL Championships during the time the IRL series only ran on ovals for Panther Racing. He won the 2006 Indy Car Championship with Rodger Penske Racing, and at that time the series did run road course races. Was the 2006 Indianapolis 500 pole sitter and won the 2006 Indianapolis 500 on a last lap pass on Marco Andretti FTMFW

JPM won a championship at CART, and one at F3000. He did not win one at F1. Sam Hornish won IRL, and yes, he's good with open wheels. As for old guys running dirt track, how about Tony Stewart lobbying for a dirt-track points race, or Greg Biffle BUYING a dirt oval? Carl Edwards is a good guy, since you brought him up. He does a lot for charity.

most of the drivers run dirt races for charity and also to just race. Lots of drivers like to fix their itch of racing that way. Stewart is one of those. The only dangerous part is their is the chance of them getting injured. Denny Hamlin and Carl Edwards got injured in a dirt race in the past few years.
