Who could or would argue those facts? I personally enjoy talking nascar with philsanity because he seems to know about nascar other than that they turn left a lot.

well i put that up there just incase any of you guys wondered who would've won it if it was the old system.

There are some things i would like to see changed in the chase. Add a road course race and take off one of the 1.5 mile speedways. Also if you win a race then your locked into the chase. cause the dominate teams win mainly most of the race, but every now and then you get a team that isnt a power house like hendricks, roush, rcr, etc win a race. Also i really have a problem with atlanta only getting one race now, that has always been a good racing track that drivers like. has produced alot of close finishes since they reconfigured it in 97.

I agree with win and your in. I have always wondered why there is no road course since they have a super speedway thrown in.

I didn't take it personal. I was backing up your statement as in nobody could argue what you said as well as philsanity. Its all good

I can see nascar adding the austin road course in a few years from now. Also I like the Indy road course as well. But I think there has to be a little bit of all racing tracks in the chase. So that way to win the chase you have to be good at all types of tracks.

lol they turn right to get out of the pit box lol. alot of people just see it as guys driving in circles but its not like driving your car to work where its smooth and comfort feel. The track surface has bumps and dips that affect your handling. If your car is tight or loose then you have to adjust it, which is a bunch of things you can do. Adjust the track bar, wedge, adding or taking out spring rubbers to change the compression of the springs, to even as little as adjusting air pressure in tires to adding more front tape on the grill. Plus the pull around 2 to 3 G forces in a turn that has banking, and its hot as hell in those cars cause the engine and the exhast.

Exactly why I enjoy it. Its the science behind making those cars do what they do. Its pretty cool to be able to use the air around your car to move somebody without even touching them. Or even the flip side of that to keep control of it at 180 mph when it happens. A lot of people say its easy or what ever...... if it were, we would all be making millions just by " driving " in circles.

Im just a fan of all racing. Though nascar and motorcycle racing are my favorites. I go to most of the races here. I always have pit passes to nascar and indy. I get to meet and greet with John Force and Ashley(sp) at the nationals every year. One of my reps does business directly with Force Racing. I get hot passes to that as well. So as long as I stay out of the way, I get to stay in the garage with the teams. And I occasionaly do track days on my motorcycles when time and schedule allow me to do so.
I am by no means a baller and could never afford to go to as many races and sporting events that I do......... my job has very good perks that sends me to all sporting events. And because most of my reps know Im a racing/football guy, they really hook me up.

Actually, if you go back and read the interviews after the race you will see that Joe Gibbs racing was having issues with very poor fuel mileage since Kyle Busch blew an engine in California. After the blown engine that went back and examined all the engines and found they were running to lean which was giving them some of the best fuel mileage in nascar. To compensate for the problem they made some adjustments that worsened the fuel mileage significantly because they didn't want Denny to be out of the chase due to a blown engine. I think the championship was Denny's to win and as they have stated they laid back the first 3/4 of the races in the Chase and to get agressive the last four races. Knowing they were having poor fuel mileage they made a mistake letting Denny race so hard so early. I think it was a bad call on Ford's part but also a bad pace Denny set. I think Denny could have ran way from the others early in the chase if they hadn't raced not to lose the championship.

Even Hamlin questioned him. His fuel pressure gauge never showed signs of low fuel. Gibbs racing is known for their cars always having better fuel mileage than most. All the other crew chiefs seem to have the same notion, Fords calculations were off. Doesnt make sense when you tell your driver your 10 laps short and everybody else never even mentioned being worried other than say save as much as you can just in case it goes to green/white. Plus they were not even off sequence with the other drivers. Ray Everham even said to be 1-2 laps short is one thing maybe 3 at most......... But 10 off of everybody else? No way.
All Denny would have had to do was finish in the top 20 and the title was his had that error not occured last week. But oh well, spilled milk.

well ford should've done a fuel run in practice. Most teams run a fuel load in the weekend practice so that way they can see how much they can run on a tank of gas.

I watched the race. I watched the post race interviews as well as the interviews throughout the week after the race. I also listened to them off and on with track pass during the race. I also listened to the crew chiefs on totally nascar. As mentioned, they reported Denny was not low on fuel when they brought him in. Ford made a bad miscalculation. There was plenty of fuel left in the car. That was a point brought up as to why did they not tell Denny to back off when he and Carl were racing hard for the lead. If they knew they were low on fuel, it was never mentioned. Also as Hamlin himself said, his fuel pressure gauge never once showed signs of low fuel. Thats why Hamlin was still mad about the race and didnt want to discuss it anymore heading into the final race.

When I mentioned that JGR gets better mileage than most, thats on an average and not just a stretch of a couple of races. Thats another thing that was brought up by Ray Everham, Gibbs cars are among the best in milage week in and week out. When was the last time JGR lost a race due to fuel? It really doesnt matter at this point. All I know is that if Jimmy wins 6 in a row, Im done with nascar until somebody else wins.

Its cool to have somebody else in the discussion with their own views and opinions, and be mature about it. Rather than have the usual "Nascar sucks" posts.
