Please specify the bandwagon fans. I for one am a sports fan and specifically a Football/Dallas Cowboy fan. I've also been a DM fan since we got the franchise, I am not however a BB fan since I've always felt that it was a fixed game/sport and here a few years ago my suspicions were proven correct.

Unfortunately there's not a stat for "chocking". There's also not a stat for game winning field goals which I know Dirk has made many of. Again, Bird had a much better supporting cast than Dirk has ever had and they were together for a very long time. Bird didn't have a supporting cast of Josh Howard, Erik Dampier, Marquis Daniels, Keith Van Horn, etc. I think Dirk has done very well with what he had and if Bird had played with a not so great cast of team mates things might have been different.

The comment I originally responded to, was that "Bird's got nothing on Dirk", and it's just not true. Dirk is a great player, and he's the player of the moment.
Coop and Henry, there were MANY bandwagon fans on the old site when the Mavs stunk it up against Miami. I don't have the patience or time to go back there and do a search. If it doesn't apply to you, then it wasn't aimed at you. I had season tickets to the Mavs when a lot of you guys were in grade school, so the "I've been a fan for 20 years" doesn't quite cut it.

If you don't want to go look, then don't generalize to the majority of people here, ya birther. And BTW at the old site I said that David Stern and the crooked ass refs stole the series from us, it wasn't for a lack of effort on the Mavs part IMO.

Actually I was a senior in HS when Dallas got the Mavericks franchise and yes I was a fan from the first year. I also remember my dad taking us to see the Dallas Roadrunners as a kid, so I guess Ive been a Dallas Basketball fan since gradeschool, so I guess you're sorta of right dickbump .

HOLY FUCK!!!

I just got home from OKC... that shit was so insane! It is indescribable how loud it was in that place last night! They have a pretty cool thing going with all of the "chants" and they were playing some bad ass music. I love the AC/DC going into the loud ass "thunder" chant. It was impressive. I couldn't believe how poorly the Mavs were playing but they were right there until the end. My wife got pissed and said I will meet you in the hallway and all the Thunder fans around me were patting me on the back saying they had to defend their house and now its a series and thanks for coming out... then the Mavs woke up and put on a fucking clinic. Before OT started I tried talking to the fans around me and they wouldn't even look at me! LOL

It was EPIC and I am so glad that I got to be there to see it. Look at what the Mavs have accomlished already this playoffs... blew a 24 point lead against a Portland team that everyone picked to win to still win the series... swept a defending champion Lakers team who everyone picked to win... held their own against a younger thunder team and hung around and found ways to win. Amazing!

Dirk has reached another level and has proven that he is one of the best and can lead a team. Hell yes I can't wait until tomorrow! The time is now!

Darantula - turnovers aren't what won that ball game. Dallas turned it over a fuck ton too. Harden fouling out, and Westbrook's bad decisions lost that game, its as simple as that. It's difficult being right ALL the fucking time you know.... I need to surf around and find What Durant had to say post game.

It was a huge part of it. You can't turn the ball over 26 times in a playoff game. If you look at those numbers out of context of the game you'd probably assume Dallas wins by 20+. Yeah, Harden fouling out and Westbrook's bad decision making were huge too but they could have overcame those if they weren't turning the ball over every other possession.

Durant's press conference was just sad. Dude was legitimately depressed about the loss. I've never seen him act like that in a press conference.

E-X-A-C-T-L-Y. Most of that was from the old board, but there was definitely some of that.

Please understand that I know Dirk is great. I also remember a lot of these same guys calling Dirk a "choker" not too long ago. Fairweathered? Maybe. I don't EVER recall Bird choking in a big game/series, or anyone accusing him of that.

You NEVER heard it because Bird had 3 titles.
