Yeah, that really sucks for the rookie - tough lesson to learn.

I dont think there was anything else he could do, he had Weldon behind him and he is also low on fuel. So you dont want to just get out of the gas and follow him cause then Weldon could pass you. Maybe he should've gotten out of the gas more. I still think the slow car should've gotten out of the way.

I will say though that Hilderbrand did a good job controlling his emotions after the race. He didnt blame the slow car. I feel bad for him cause there isnt many opportunities to win the Indy 500. Expecially if your not on a Ganassi, Penske ride. Thomas Sheckter in 2002 was leading late in the Indy 500 and he wrecked kinda like the same way Hilderbrand did. He hasnt had a good chances since. Just look at Kanaan who has had several chances to win, and just cant find the key to gate for victory lane. But I think I became a fan of his, I've been looking for someone to go for once Kanaan retires or whatever.

what a crazy end to that race. I thought Hilderbrand had it, but I fault the slow car than Hilderbrand at the end. He should've known that the leader was coming and he should've gotten on the apron and out of the way.

yea i forgot that you said that you was going on here last week, I couldn't believe the end of that race. I thought that kid had it. Your photo is great. One side you have the agony of defeat and the rush of victory with Wheldon coming into the photo.
