I wonder how long it will be before Dana starts mixing it up with strikeforce and ufc fighters? Cause it won't be long before the people start wanting to see champion vs. champion fights
I'm guessing once the Heavyweight tournament is over, that will be the end of Strikeforce. Once a clear champ is determined over there, that will set up a huge superfight between the Strikeforce and UFC champs to unify the title.

As I said, my guess will be Barnett could be the last man standing if he can stay clean.

But won't the winner just be the Tourament Champ, not the Strikeforce HW Champ?

      I'm going with Overeem

Oh and one guess. They meet in the Finals but it'll be held in Japan so they'll both be full of "energy"

Ha! Who knows. I'd assume a big event like that would be in Vegas since White/Zuffa get huge kick backs from Vegas to bring people into Vegas and their casinos.

Wonder if they can finish this tourney around New Years?

He was gassed, so what did he do to get gassed? He has too much bulk and will tire easily. JD and Super Mex just need to make it past 5 minutes with him until he's huffing and puffing then what?

He has a punchers chance and his chin is questionable. JD is a better striker than him and Cain will own him on the ground. I just don't see where people think he's so great. Strike Force ain't the UFC. Look what happened to Mirko when he stepped into the cage, he's from K1.

We could go round and round on the subject, I just am not sold on the roid junkie

I seriously doubt it. They just now applied for 137 for GSP/Diaz in October in Las Vegas. Seems they are abit way out on the tournament thing. lol.

It is true, Overeem's biggest weakness is part of his greatest advantage - his strength and size. Weathering the storm is the key to beating Overeem. His overly muscled build gasses his very quickly. The strategy of striking in a ring is quite different than striking in a cage.

In a ring, Overeem can use his size to bully against the ropes without fear of his opponent being able to get back up using a cage type barrier to help him get back up.

Overeem is very much like Lesnar in using his size and strength to gain position. Overeem can strike to where Lesnar cannot though, but they both have very suspect chins.

Btw, if you don't think a majority of them aren't on some type of roids or growth hormone, you're delusional. Just because they all aren't giant, oversized muscle freaks, doesn't mean they aren't using. Overeem's body just is responding to his training style. Most use it for an endurance advantage and recovering quickly from injuries.

And i hope you're not just going by his last fight to judge him. I'll agree that he was gassed by the middle of the 2nd round, if not sooner.

But nobody else is going to flop on the ground like Werdum did either. How is Cain or JDS going to react when they get hit by somebody with the power of Overeem? If those two play defense the first round and make Reem work a lot, they have a very good chance of beating him. Now, if they try coming right after him trying to end it in the first, i don't think that'll work out for 'em very well.

And please don't bring CroCop into this disscussion, he was past his prime when he finally stepped into the cage

Werum flopped on the ground and yet still Reem gassed, why I wonder? I am not saying he is a lousy fighter, just that a well rounded fighter such as J.D or Super Mex will expose his weaknesses and I doubt it will be pretty.

I do not think CropCop was past his prime as much as the UFC and it's style fighting never seemed to fit him. K1 was more of his bread and butter. Ernesto Hoost was another great K1 fighter that would not have done so well in the UFC style fights.

God I miss those fights, Hoost was insane with the legs.

Werdum was floppin because he hurt his knee 30 seconds into the second round. Watch the replay and you will see when it happens.

Cuz Overeem said that Werdum couldn't submit him anymore like before.
