They better not give him too much... if he has make it rain money, he's liable to go get his drank on and start mowing dudes down in the bentley.

Broncos for sure need defense. They probably will take Dareus, unless he ends up being taken #1. I think Von Miller is going to be a DeMarcus Ware like stud. But Denver is switching to a 4-3 defense, and Miller is more of a 3-4 OLB. If Dareus is gone I would guess that they would either take Peterson or Fairley. Hopefully not Fairley though, I have a bad feeling that he will be a bust when all is said and done.

As far as Dallas goes with the #9, we need either Tyron Smith OT from USC or Prince Amukamara CB from Nebraska. If we can't get one of them Jerry should trade back. Even if we get Amukamara we should still keep Newman for another year or two though. He might not be perfect, but he's still better than alot of starting corners. It would be a good idea to not need to depend on a rookie corner to start right away. Besides Newman, Jenkins, Amukamara, and Scandrick runnin around in the secondary would be death to QB's everywhere.

The draft is happening no matter what. It has nothing to do with all the NFL vs. NFLPA stuff, as rookies aren't part of either organization. After they are picked the teams won't be able to sign them right away, but the draft will still happen when it's supposed to.

The only thing more worthless than predicting the draft is high school recruit rankings.

            Proof: 2000 Draft
Quarterbacks taken before Tom Brady in order - Chad Pennington, Giovanni Carmazzi, Chris Redman, Tee Martin, Marc Bulger, Spergon Wynn.

            Really?

When it comes to the draft, give me the list on Monday and I might look it over. Draft results are only interesting after players have done something.

I agree with that. You're not saying anything that wasn't already obvious to anyone with just a tab bit of football knowledge. I honestly made the thread to figure out what everyones opinions are on their teams draft needs.

I just hope the cowboys don't take smith at 9. Yes, they need to improve the o-line badly, but you do not take a project right tackle in the first round, ever.

The guy played at 280 pounds on the right side. When the scouts talk about him, I hear words like "potential", "risky" and "maybe". If you are drafting a cornerstone tackle, you need to hear words like "lock" or "stud" or "future pro-bowler".

I'd much rather see them trade down and take another tackle much later. I don't think smith is clearly better that Solder, Carimi, or Costanzo. If he were Jake Long or Joe Thomas - they should jump on it, but I don't think Smith will ever be that good. We don't even know if he can play on the left side.

I like Costanzo over Smith but I hope they can trade down and still get him. It would also be nice if they can nab Peterson with the 9th pick although that might be a stretch. IMO, a shut down CB like him is the only thing that would justify the boys not getting Costanzo.

I doubt PP makes it. I could see Buffalo, Cleveland, San Fran, and Tennessee taking him. All the rumors in Cleveland are that he is their top choice if available.

We need a game changer, no more, no less. You can find quality OL all draft day long. We need a guy that will intercept a ball and run it back for TD(s), a DL/LB that can and will send QB's to the bench without the ball.

Well put, if we take a 1st round OT a trade down would be the best idea. Maybe even the next round since we pick 8th in round 2. It's starting to look like trading back would be our best choice unless some stud falls back to us like last year. Amukamara would be the best choice if that doesn't happen.

They are also talking trades with NE, which would put them at 17 or 18, but they would pick up the first pick in the second round among other lower picks.

I'm ok with trading down, if Peterson, Amakamura, or Fairley are gone. If any of those guys are still on the board, and they trade down, I may throw a beer bottle through the tv. That OT they've been eyeing will still be there at 17 or 18. Hell, he might still be there for the first pick of the second round.

yeah so far ive read they are / were ? in talks with New England (but adam schefter said the deal was dead... http://twitter.com/#!/adamschefter.)

also Minnesota too.. who knows whats going on?

I know Chris Moretenson on espn reported the New England one. i'll probably turn onto the local radio station at 6.
on NFLN,Stacey Dales said "Absolutely, no way, with certainty." that NE trades up w/Dallas to possibly get Cam Jordan. But she also meant trading up to us, not just Cam Jordan, she said there is a chance NE might try to trade up w/ someone.
The Dallas Cowboys are leaning toward taking Boston College OT Anthony Castonzo with their first-round draft choice because they believe he is more consistent than Southern California OT Tyron Smith and believe Castonzo is ready to play.

Updating a previous report, the Oakland Raiders are looking to acquire a first-round draft choice in the 2011 NFL Draft in order to take University of Colorado CB Jimmy Smith.
