Thanks. I just want him to make it on some starting HS roster. If he takes it further than that, then that will be great.

I played from age 7 through HS and actually had several scholarship offers but since I joined the Army my 11th grade year, I couldnt take them.

Just make sure that is something that HE wants when he gets to that age. I'm not saying he won't or has a reason not to, but I've seen too many kids playing sports and other extracurricular activities just because they know how happy and proud their parents are of them when they play even if they really don't want to be playing or participating in whatever it is they are doing.

Yup...I want it because he wants it right now. I know from experience and learning that kids who stay in sports do better in school and have higher self confidence than those who do not. I am not the kind of dad that lives vicariously through his children. I started on varsity 4yrs in HS and was no where near the level he is at right now...heck, they didnt have select ball when I was a kid. It was Little League or nothing.

LOL...I hear ya. I get a little intimidated catching for him when he wants to practice pitching. Trying to catch a 60mph fastball that's in the dirt in front of you with no gear on sucks. Taking said ball in the teeth is no fun.
