Well maybe they were bullshitting me. I asked about price matching some of these online prices I found and he said they didnt do that, but they would match local , in stock. Of course no one local was any cheaper on the paticular Tv I was interested.

They price match, but for whatever reason they wouldn't match this deal. It was a $300 difference in price (BB price $999, Fry's price $699). I said "Well if you can't do it, you can't do it" and turned and walked out. I figured they were BSing to try to sell the extra crap but they let me walk out so I guess they didn't need the sale that bad. I didn't care who sold it to me, I was just trying to make my trip a little shorter.

They won't price match online items, you usually have to bring in something on paper.

I just bought a new camera and BB was 15% higher than Walmart's online price. I gave them a shot since it was a birthday present and I could have it that day, but ended up waited 3 days to get it shipped from Walmart.

My roommate bought his from Amazon 4 years ago. It was a DLP and the price dropped about 2-3 months later. He emailed them about it and they refunded the difference to his card. I wouldn't be too worried if it's Amazon or NewEgg or another reputable online site. There are some fly-by-night ones that are worthless though.

I've never had a bad experience buying anything from Amazon. I wouldn't hesitate to. However, do your research. Make sure model numbers are identical to what you've looked at in stores. My last one came from Fry's though, because they were the cheapest I found on the tv I wanted.

My only concern would depend on the type of TV being ordered. I've read it's usually best that plasmas always be handled with the screen up, or whatever it is. I have no idea if it's a myth, but having things shipped like that would make me a little nervous.

I ordered our primary LCD online and had it shipped...zero issues.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Just be sure to plug it in and check it out right out of the box to check for damage. The only additional problems I have seen from an online purchase have been shipping related.

AdamLX - the only thing about laying them flat is that the packaging isn't designed to protect the set when shipped horizontally. There is not a electronic/mechanical reason not to lay a TV flat.

If you recall, when they first came out, Philips was advertising them with a plasma mounted on the ceiling and the couple laying in bed watching.
