Quick wire crimping question.

I use a hammer crimp for 4ga or larger unless the wire is run in the vehicle already. If I am replacing a ring in the vehicle, I use a crimper that looks like large bolt cutters but has crimper jaws. The hammer crimp makes a tighter crimp.

Can you recommend one? I have a handful of 0 gauge wires to deal with.

Which also looks very close to the one posted earlier. I don't see them being very different. You just put the wire in and whack it. Pretty straightforward.

I use metra's hammer crimp. $20 or so. I can order one for you if you want.

For large cables, I crimp using a bench vise and then solder. I've never had an issue doing it this way.
