Talk me out of a new plasma

I definitely won't talk you out of it. Wife & I love our 50" Plasma S2 series. Excellent picture, high contrast ratio, and deep blacks for a sub $1K HDTV. No problems with burn in. Has built in anti-retention pixel orbiter and a anti-glare filter, which a lot of the really cheap plasmas don't. And those suck if you put it anywhere around a window or in a brightly lit room. Make sure the model you're looking at has anti-glare filter listed in the spec's. Otherwise, you're buying an expensive mirror. Or just a TV you can watch in low light environments. Really is a night and day difference on the Plasmas to have the anti-glare filter feature. My S2 series is watchable all day with blinds open or shut with little to no glare issues.

First thing we did was watch Avatar on Blu-ray after we brought it home. Looks the same a lot of TVs at twice the price with out of the box Cinema settings. And this was before I calibrated it with AVIA.
