  • playing digital audio in an analog only zone 2 ??

Her what the plan is. My pioneer vsx-1023 receiver will only play an analog signal to zone 2 (outdoor speakers), so i can't play from my iphone via the air-play feature, only in zone 1.

I also have an apple tv. I want to use a digital to analog signal convert with the apple tv device, via an optical wire from the apple tv to the converter and then rca's from the converter to the receiver then i can just send my music from my phone to the apple tv. should work in theory.

does anyone know if this WILL NOT work with this device ?

    thanks

Yes, it will. External DACs are pretty versatile in their uses. I use a similar device Behringer UCA222 to take REW measurements and EQ my subs. This is what people use to make high quality rips from Vinyl.
