          If you want SPL, why not two 18s instead of four 12s? More surface area but perhaps easier to shoehorn in the trunk.

          Personally, I'd choose one solid 15 over those four Lanzar 12s.

                    what company makes the 18,s that are decent?? Lanzars Opti 12,s are very nice and high watt speakers but dont see them in 18,s

                          Lots of brands have internet boners, but I don't have personal experience with them to recommend them. I use Alpine Type R 15s, and they kick major ass. Extremely solid, LOUD, good SQ, can handle gobs of power (but really only need 500-ish each to get moving), and not all that expensive. I have a pair in my Explorer that I've been pounding on for like 8 years. And I mean they get jammed on hard for long periods of time. Never had any issues with them at all.

                                Another from way back in the day, Ranger (w/ Snug Top, of course) sporting 16 Petras Cardiac 15's. Can't remember what he had driving them though.
