  • Stereo and speaker suggestions

Looking for input a decent stereo and speaker suggestions for a smaller budget. Nothing fancy on the stereo, just decent quality with an input for an Ipod/Android device. I'd like to add an amp as well to boost sound quality, I just have no clue what to look for in this stuff.

Front speakers are 6 1/2 round.
    Rear are 6x8.

Would like to stay around the $400-$500 range if possible.

I've had good luck with higher end Pioneers and also Alpine head units.

Speakers, haven't had too many aftermarket speakers, but out of the ones I've had, my Infiniti Kappa's are great sound quality for the money. I have 5 1/2 in front doors and 5x7 in rear just running off the factory HU for now.

I did something similar, told EW what my budget and goal was, and he gave me options and opinions.

You can get an alpine deck, install parts, and two pair of JL TR speakers (which are way better than the entry level infinity, pioneer or kenwood speakers)for $500 or under depending upon vehicle. Some cars need data modules, steering wheel control, elaborate dash kit, or antenna adapter.

It's an older 92F150. I had all my shit but my door speaker stolen a couple years back. They even stole the speakers in the back panels behind my bench.

Great! You need fewer parts than new trucks.
