        That's because they are not actually bulbs, they are CRTs(picture tubes). 1 red, 1 blue, 1 green - just like an old big screen tv. Just laid flat instead of into the rear projection setup.

        Replacing one of those when it goes out takes considerably longer than a lamp in a DLP; and isn't something for the average person to do.

          Yeah I figured it was RGB with the 3 lenses showing but I have never seen one like this. How much do these sell for and are they really better than ceiling mount projectors? There has to be a downside to them other than the weight, right?

            Oh and I forgot to mention, sweet setup Nick! Did you used to have AV123 speakers? I know you recommended them a few times on here and I picked up a set based on that before they shut down. Glad I did, they are sweet and were very inexpensive considering what you got. I went with a HSU sub instead of the problematic ones AV123 sold though.
