  • Alpine + iPhone5

I have an older Alpine (CDA-9856 I believe) that has the cable for the early iPods. I had planned on putting that into my new Blazer but I can't seem to find the appropriate cable/adapter to make it read and charge the iPhone 5. Any ideas?

The current cable registers a failure with just an iPhone 4 so I don't think the 4 to 5 adapter would work.

I would just use an aux connector and control it through the iPhone. I had a alpine headunit and the iPod adapter in my lightning and the headunit was too slow controlling the iPod.

You can use an Alpine KCA-121 or PAC AAI-ALPA through the Ai-Net plug as an AUX input. That deck does not have a USB ipod connector so it will not work on an iphone 5. Time for a new deck. None have the lightning cord yet.

          Works with iPhone 5.
