  • Organizing Wires & Cables

I just mounted a TV in my bedroom. Plan on getting some type of shelf to mount under it for the cable box & dvd player. I need ideas on how to organize the power cables mainly. First problem is that the power cable from the TV & Sound Bar aren't even close to either receptacle box on both sides of the TV towards the bottom of the wall. I'd like to use those covers that hide the wires & cables that attach to the wall & can be painted to match the color of the wall. At the moment I have no idea how I'm going to get all this sorted out so that it doesn't look like total crap. Not looking to run the cables/wires through the wall, just some sort of a clean look. Any ideas & advice would be much appreciated! Here are a couple of quick pics I snapped with my phone.

Drill a hole behind the tv, drill another directly to below where the cabinetwill go and run tthe wires in the wall.

You can get them at Walmart. They are simple and cheap. Use a power strip/surge protector from the outlet to the cabinet, and just plug your electronics into that.

Yeah they are easy. Walmart, HD, Lowes, etc have them. I found it's easier to paint them prior to installation (just FYI). Sometimes two coats are needed.

Sometimes it looks better unpainted though. In your situation though, painted will be the answer for sure.

Mount the plug behind the tv.
