That is a nice Christmas present to yourself That will make your ride up to CO that much nicer too. I am looking at replacing my stereo as well. I have everything picked out, but I just don’t know what I want to do for bass.

I am sure jluv's sounds good. I love jl audio, but am just to cheap to spend the money on new stuff.

JL makes some cheaper stuff, like w0 and w1 subs. In fact, some of their stealth boxes are loaded with those. If you can build the box yourself, the subs aren't too bad. I'd recommend their cheap stuff over most other entry level stuff. Or, if you want a lot out if one sub, and you have a good amount of power, check out the Alpine Type R subs. They get LOUD and sound good.

I'm getting ready to have all my stuff installed and I have a 12" type R but EW said it's probably not going to fit under the rear seat so now I'm also trying to figureout what I'm going to do as far subs go. What ever I do I need it under the rear seat.

It's tight under. The jl stuff is really your best ybet. But I like to do my own work. That and I am cheap. The more I do, the more I learn. I will send you a link tomorrow on some bad ass little speakers you be interested in. I may still use them.

I installed a used JL Stealthbox (JL 10W0) under the unused side of my rear seat in my 98' GMC Sierra and hooked it up to a Linear Power 2202IQ (its turned WAY down) with an Audiocontrol 2XS crossover. Not the type of bass I'm used too but 1000% better than the factory stereo (I'm still running 100% stock factory premium speakers). Its not a knockout stereo system but is WAY better than what came in the truck.
