It depends. Do you want a ported box or sealed enclosure. That will depend on box construction and the amp you planning to use. As for mounting location, that will be obvious once you mock it up. -
What type of music do you listen to most?
If it's metal/rock(not korn...) then sealed, if rap and really deep bassy stuff then portedComment

sealed is the only way too go. imo
I have always built my own boxes, very easy and cheap to make, and face the sub either up OR facing the rear of the carComment
