Shoot me a price on replacing every speaker in the car with JLs. Don't forget it's a vert, so the rear is set up different but probably the same size. Shoot me a seperate price on a good 8" sub setup, including wiring, amp, box etc, but I'd like to maintain as much cargo room as possible since there isn't much to begin with.

Really? Ever hear the Pro60s, circa 2006-ish? Great sounding, well made speakers! I liked them every bit as much as I like my JL ZRs.

I never listened to their subs though.

Lol, you sorta answered your own question as JL components aren't my idea of bad ass either...

Boston made shit that cost too much for what it was. It was good Best Buy crap and should have been sold there at half their msrp, not trying to compete with real speaker companies.

Bah! Whatever man. I never saw Pro 60s at Best Buy. I also had a professional SQ judge give my setup a ton of praise when I ran them. I guess we all hear things differently, but I do know good reproduction of sound when I hear it. And ZRs are great components, too. I've never been impressed by Focal, so to each his own.

I also realize there are components out there that cost several thousand bucks. Talk about overpriced...

Like you said, to each their own. My 90 with all Focal K2s sounds pretty fucken good, and it doesn't even have the eq in it yet.

Focal, Dyn, Hertz, Rainbow, CDTech, etc are just a few of what I'd consider a higher end car audio speaker company. Not so much Boston.

Maybe you should start a "extreme-mega-super-ultra-awesome pretty much unaffordable, only seen in magazines, car subwoofer" thread

LOL, nah cause Id be the only dude posting in it on this site...:bBishope:

I was helpful as to what you should get. 1 10W1 or 12W1. Both VERY cheap yet sound good and will be all you would want.

I was just happy EW said Boston went under and jluv took offense to it.

I didn't take offense to it. I don't work for Boston. I just think your opinions on car audio are funny. You think enough of the W1 line of subs to say that they sound "good", but lumped all Boston stuff together and called it "overpriced awful sounding shit". It's an opinion, so I won't say you're wrong or right. Just funny, that's all.

We don't know each other but Tim and I do. I don't own any W1s, but that said I do think they sound better than Bostons. My friend back in the day had 2 pro 12s that didn't hit as hard as his 15W1. Db was less and it didn't sound as good. The box for the Bostons was bad ass 1" mdf vs a make shift spare tire tub we sealed with foam from home depot (lols).

W1s are decent subs and I think Tim would be very happy with one.

CWO, if you're wanting to stay on the lower end of the price spectrum, look into the Type R line from Alpine.
