  • Who to use for amp repair

Long story short my almost new JL A6450 amp is fucked. There are screws missing from the end of it and it may have shorted out? Hell if I know. I've done all that I know to do.

Pisses me off that an almost brand new freaking amp has less than ten hours on it and is now functioning on what seems to be 2 out of 6 channels.

Any one that you guys recommend and trust? I'm in Wylie, fwiw.

I would send it to JL. They have a flat rate repair charge and not only fix what is wrong but also perform any updates since the build date. Since it is an old A series amp, maybe you should just recycle the aluminum and buy a HD900/5.

Cool, will probably do that Eric. And even though it's an older series amp, it has less than five hours on it. Will try and find their address.

Take it back to where you bought it? If it is new they should repair it.

I bought it, along with a 12" JL sub in a fiberglass box off ebay. A company that installed stereos in semi trucks ended up with a truckload of these things after a particular model of truck was discontinued. Was a hell of a deal in that they were all brand new, and I got the two for $225 delivered. Hell of an amp for that kind of money.
