  • what are you guys doing with Takata airbag recall cars?

So the 2013-14 Mustangs, along with millions of others, have the Takata airbag recall but they are showing available for purchase on the website. I'm just curious how that works. How does the procedure work if someone buys one from you guys?

I recently traded my 2014 GT to 5 star, and they replaced them before they put it out for sale.

      Interesting. Are you 100% sure?

I mean I didn't watch them do it, but that's what they told me when I asked if it was sold because it wasn't on the lot. It sold in a day after they had it on the lot. Miss it already.

I really hope that isn't true. I asked because I bought a 2013 GT on May 30th from AutoNation Fort Worth and they won't give it to me until the airbag is fixed. They told me last week that there isn't even a part available yet and it could be weeks.

I am curious if other dealerships are having the same problems.

Do you happen to have the VIN from your car? If so, can you look it up and see if it's had the repair? Or PM me the VIN and I'll take a look.... if you don't mind.

Unfortunately, I don't. I don't really see why they would lie about something like that. He also said my car had a recall on the fuel tank that they replaced, too.

I honestly don't think anyone is really lying. It makes me wonder how this is all going down. It is a massive recall. When did you trade yours in? This particular recall was official May 27th. the one prior to that is a separate issue.

Mid June. They had it about a week or two before it made it to the lot. Some of this was my fault as I had them take off my old mods and put it back to stock.

They are for sale, if you wan't them for your new 13

Boss 302 intake manifold and supporting mods. I mad 425whp with the manifold, exhaust, CAI, and a tune.

Probably easier for a Ford house to get the part than Autonation.. At least, one would think. And by easy I mean I would guess they get priority.

Been lots of issues geting Ford parts lately. The new Mustang parts require miracles to get them to your door, n9t sure why they have had so many issues.

Maybe try calling 5 star? Their parts guys are usually pretty cool to deal with. I had some warranty work done and they made it pretty painless.
