    Sold car 5 years ago, now getting toll bill

    I sold a non running truck back in 2010...All we did was a bill of sale between us, signed the title and gave it too him. I didnt know anything about filling out the change of ownership forms on the DMV website and it looks like that may be bitting me in the ass

    Just got a letter from the NTTA that shows back tolls for this truck back from 2012.

    What forms do I need to fill out? Someone told me that I will need to fill out an Affidavit at the court house???

      Don't ever sell a car to a wet back. If you sell a car take the plates off of it before you hand it over.

          I am guilty of doing this. I have cars that I have owned for 20 years that I have not transferred the title to.

              If you have the info of the person you sold it to ( which you should), you can go online and file a notice of title transfer dating back to when it was sold.

                          I was just relaying my experiences to the board and also explaining why there will be no plates on the car if I ever sell one to any of you guys.

                          So did he sell it to a wet back?

                            Like I said, it was over 5 years ago and I can't find the hand written bill of sale...so I'm not sure what I'm going to do

                            And no it wasn't a Mexican....it was a white dude who got the truck running and quickly flipped it for a profit.
