  • 2015 Mustang Configurator online - and actual weight

    Configurator is here: http://bp3.ford.com/2015-Ford-Mustan...r-cars#/Style/

Jalopnik also posted the actual weight of the 2015 'stang. The GT Manual only gained 86lbs, not 200 or 300 as was claimed. It is 3704lbs vs 3618 for the 2014 model.

    The V6 manual only gains 25lbs (3526lbs vs 3501lbs)

The Ecoboost four banger with manual starts at 3516lbs, nearly 200lbs lighter than the GT. IMO that car is looking more and more like a winner.

The scandal known as "2015 Ford Mustang Weightgate" is over. Thanks to a Ford dealer in Florida who exclusively supplied Jalopnik with the 2015 Mustang's Dealer Source Book, we know the actual weight of every model of the new 'Stang.

Wait a second, we've been told all this time that the car was going to be losing weight, like 200-300lbs. Definitely not an ender for me (not that I'm buying this year anyway), but still.

The gain weight isnt horrible considering the move to IRS, but Ford should've done more to keep the weight under the previous generation GT.

          I agree.

          Should have removed the backseat.

What's the point of that damned thing any way? I can't even fit my hand between the back of the front seat and back seat. A child couldn't even fit there.

I was screwing with it earlier this morning and you couldn't even get better than cloth seats in a GT. I think they've got a lot of work to do on that thing still. I'm also disappointed at the weight. Not because it gained a lot, but because everything in the media had been saying it was going to lose about 300 pounds.

Yea, I don't think Ford ever said that it the Mustang was going to lose weight. Everything mentioned was rumor. There were rumors that it would be much smaller but those never came to fruition either.

Insurance. It's usually cheaper to insure a 4 seater vs a 2 seater.

                        Here is the dealer guide:

The last two days have been big news days for the hotly-anticipated 2015 Ford Mustang. We found out how much it will really weigh, and we even uncovered a strange beta-like online configurator. Now you can know everything the car dealers know about the new 'Stang.

I like how the mustang went UP in weight at the same time they come out with their ultra-lightweight ford fusion car concept. What a bunch of bullshit and a wasted opportunity. The ford engineers should be shamed that Nissan can manage to drop weight, add power to the 350Z to the 370Z and they cant even muster anything close.

Lol at comparing 350/370z to a mustang...

Type out a list of weight comparisons between the mustang and the g37 (which has a back seat) then you'll realize the mustang is doing pretty damn good.

They don't make the G37 anymore
