  • Anyone work on A/C?

As some of you know, the A/C in Chili's Bronco does not work. This week is going to be no less than 104 degrees for the high and he needs to get it fixed. Problem is, we don't know what is wrong.

Anyone local that works on A/C that we could throw a 12pk at to help us diagnose it? If we could at least figure out what's wrong, he could probably do the work. We just don't know what it needs.

We are in Euless and would greatly appreciate it! TIA!

            Nope. It just releases it.

I thought I heard he can't do side work anymore. We just need to know where to start. If you have some time this week (preferably asap), we sure would appreciate you lookingat it...

Grab some refrigerant with dye in it to find where the leak is.

Just to give some additional info. This is on a 90 bronco that was converted to 134. It was working last year but did discharge freon a couple times. I believe it did that because the fan clutch was bad and the fan wasn't moving enough air (only happened when sitting still or moving very slowly). So I assumed pressure just built too much and vented. Compressor still worked fine, etc. so a couple of months ago, since I had replaced the fan clutch and all, I figured i would just need to re-charge it and would be fine. That is when I realized the Compressor was no longer cycling on and off. That's about all I know.

If its too low on freon it will not cycle. You have to jump it I believe. Did you replace the main hose? There is only one big combo hose and its about 80 bucks at Oriely. Mine was leaking at the hose. It also made it cool better because it has filters and stuff in it. Did you clean all the leaves out of the bird cage area? That also made a difference on mine.

Looks like the compressor is self destructing. Clogged orifice, and it immediately clogged the new one we stuck in for grins. Time for a compressor, dryer, and a hell of a douche.
