Thanks man. I'm looking forward to getting it out and hitting up a lot of different places with it. Writing it off will be a plus too !!

Man, I found an almost IMMACULATE '61 Impala 4 door up in the sticks in Oklahoma and it has EVERY part that I need for my car. The lady that owns it won't sell it because it belonged to her mom. UGH !!

We got all the rear suspension done as much as we could get it at John's shop last night. Got the shock tabs and lower bag plates tacked to the frame and two link bars, and got the tabs tacked to the upper bag cups. I forgot to take pictures of the shock tabs that are welded to the frame.

I plan on getting everything finish TIG welded and gusseted tomorrow at my dad's shop, and getting the right side two link bar drilled and tapped to bolt the panhard bar to.

The gussets on the bottom of the lower plates will be something similar to what John is holding at the bottom of this picture. He had those but I wanted to make some out of a thicker gauge metal so I'll just do that at the shop tomorrow.

Got my buddy to ceramic coat my manifolds and this was the first picture I got. At first I thought, "FUCK YEAH, those look awesome !" But then I thought, "FUCK, that's NOT gonna look right on the wheels !"

But then I went by my buddy's to look at them and they look completely different in person. I guess the combination of the ceramic still being wet, and he took the picture last night with the flash on his phone.

Plan on getting a lot of the front bag stuff bolted on tonight....as much as we can without the spindles and brakes anyway.

FINALLY got the spindles and brakes. I'm going to go ahead and have the spindles powder coated and calipers gold ceramic coated while they're off and bare steel.

We're getting some of the steering parts bolted on tonight. John's car has a hydroboost adapter/bracket that bolts the hydroboost to the firewall and we're going to take it off and I'll have my dad machine one to match so I can bolt all the hydroboost stuff I have on my car and get that stuff going.

This thread is making me wanna sell my coupe to fund a 50s shoe box build. Progress is coming along nicely on yours. Having a proper shop to work in is always nice as well. Can't wait to see more updates

Got the hydroboost bolted on with the help of a custom bracket my dad milled out of 3/4" aluminum and got the brake pedal rod cut down and welded for the correct pedal throw.

Got the discs off the spindles, cleaned and painted the spindles, and got the bags up front bolted on last night.

We got a late start and by 12:45am I was falling asleep so we called it a night because John and I both had to be up early this morning. I'll post some pictures of the hydroboost bracket in the milling process and after installation. I'm posting from my phone right now so I'll have to wait till I can get to my computer to post the pictures.

I've been slammed busy AND our washing machine at the house went out, so I had to take off early from the shop yesterday to go get another washer so that put me even more behind.

                        • Got the two link bars almost completely done yesterday. I just have to weld a pad to the back of the right two link bar and drill and tap it for the panhard bar mount, then I'll be completely done with them.....I hope. Welded the gussets on the bottoms of the bag plates and got the shock tabs welded and tied together.

                          Brakes.

                          Hydroboost.

Going to finish welding the upper bag cups for the rear tomorrow and get everything sandblasted. Probably just going to prime and paint the suspension parts for now so I don't have to wait to get all this shit powder coated and we can get it all put back on the car middle of the week.

Haha, I'll definitely be talking to you when the time comes and I'll also be having Sam tune it, if he doesn't mind.
