How did you know he was a douche, if you never paid enough attention to know his stance on anything?

The die-hard GOP folks are going to be scratching their heads again if/when this starts to sink in. They are now going to be duped into all but cementing the nomination for Romney in April with barely any incentive to be held accountable to address the Republican issues. Many will just rally behind the party, hold their nose, and vote. That's great. How did that work out in 2008? It is still yet to be determined, but if this is the best that the Republican party can offer when you have a fastball down the middle like an Obama in office, then the party is ripe to be blown apart and rebuilt from the ground up...

Maybe a little wishful thinking on your part? There was a common enemy in 1980, and it worked out OK. Paul never has and never will have a chance. I've followed him for 20 years, and he's never been close. Hopefully, as reality sets in, voters will realize what MUST happen to stop such a dramatic downward slide. I'm sure most of you RP guys will stay home on election day, and it's certainly your choice and right, but maybe RP will be a part of the inauguration (hopefully some type of appointment) and help some of you see the greater good...or at least the lesser of two evils.

Sadly I believe this will be the scenario where Romney doesn't even have to consider any of Paul's ideas about the Federal Reserve, the Patriot act, NDAA, government bailouts, a hopeless foreign policy, spending out of control, and balancing the federal budget in less than 20-years. At least with a few people nipping at his heals the pressure would be on to bend some to gain the support. Paul has a lot to offer the party. A loyal following of young voters, Independents, and more military support than all others combined (speaking in $$$) And if anyone actually reads the TX Republican Party Platform you might think Ron Paul wrote the entire plan himself except for a few portions.

I'm just amazed Romney is going to be the best the party can offer and everyone is so busy to get behind the man this early. I'm all for sweating the guy out (whoever it is) some more and getting the best overall message out to go up against Obama.

I have to laugh too every time when someone drops out and then immediately supports the guy five minutes ago they were trashing. And really Santorum wasn't doing that bad. I wonder if he were in Romney's place would he have bowed out because of why he did?

Don't don't trust Romney as far as I can throw him. Typical politician with that textbook snake in the grass look.

We're fucked. We're going to have to choose between a giant douche, and a shit sammich.

If you expect someone to take your opinions seriously they do. Not only must they jive, but they've also got to be well informed. Clearly that's not the case here.
