Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Minor Update: On Monday we had our formal match meeting. Our adoption councilor asked everyone a bunch of questions to get us talking and to help us get to know each other better. It was also meant to help identify whether or not our birth mother might change her mind.
It went incredibly well. She's the real deal.
It turns out that after her last pregnancy, her doctor recommended against her getting her tubes tied. Instead he gave her an IUD which is 99.9% effective. Well Brian Fantana would say, "They've done studies you know. They say that, 0.1 percent of the time it fails every time"
We also found out more about the birth father. It looks like he tried to go into rehab but ended up dropping out. Our birth mother talked to him and he said he was on board with the adoption. However it looks like we'll still need to terminate his parental rights through the courts because he's the kind that just runs away from a situation.
BTW, the birth mother is totally clean. She even eats very healthy and hates junk food. IMO her only real problem is that she has a very low self esteem. Frankly she's a pretty good looking girl and she could do much better than the assholes she's dated in the past.
So we're going to keep in touch with her over the next couple of months. She is due in late Jan/ early Feb. We're going to have her and the kids over to our house so she can see the kind of neighborhood we live in. I'm thinking about having them over for Christmas too. She likes to text a lot, which is great. Her and Miyako have been building a nice relationship that way.
During the last failed adoption we just couldn't see having a relationship with the nut jobs we were dealing with. This girl might have her flaws but we already feel like she'll be a good friend to our family. It should be fairly easy to maintain a relationship.
So now we wait..... I'm like a kid waiting to open his Christmas presents. We managed to return all of the girl stuff we bought for the failed adoption. We're buying boy stuff and doing a little redecorating in the nursery, moving away from neutral colors. There is a lot of New Orleans Saints stuff that has started appearing. I never got too deep into buying stuff for that last adoption but this time I'm having to practice some restraint. I want to buy friggin everything for this boy..

Another Update..
Things are still proceeding well. The baby is due in early February but there is a very good chance he could be born in the next couple of weeks. Our birth mother had an exam an ultrasound last week. The doctor estimates that the baby is healthy and 6 to 7lbs at this point. However the incredible stuff came when we did the 3D/4D ultrasound. Check this out:
IMO that is just incredible.
